Air temperature anomalies for Croatia in November 2019

November 2019 was characterized by average monthly air temperature above the multi-annual average (1981 - 2010). Corresponding air temperature anomalies were within the range from 2.4 °C to 4.7 °C.

Absolute maximum air temperature in November 2019 was mainly above the corresponding average (1981 - 2010) with the exception of Rijeka where it was on par with the average. Absolute maximum air temperature anomalies were within the range from -1.7 °C to 3.7 °C. A comparison with available data series of analyzed stations (Table 1) reveals that in November 2019 there was no stations where maximum air temperature exceeded the absolute maximum on record.

According to percentile ranks and classification ratings, thermal conditions in Croatia for November 2019 fall in the following categories: warm (part of Central Croatia), extremely warm (Southern Adriatic and part of the Middle Adriatic) and very warm (the rest of Croatia).



Precipitation amounts for Croatia in November 2019

An analysis of the precipitation amounts for November 2019 expressed as percentages (%) of 1981 - 2010 average, shows that precipitation amounts were mainly above the mentioned average. A comparison with the multi-annual average reveals that corresponding precipitation amounts for November 2019 were within the range of 95 % - 313 % of the mentioned average for this month.

Table 2 shows the number of days with daily precipitation amount R ≥ 0.1 mm (rainy day) for November 2019 and comparison with avaiable data series. Number of days with R ≥ 0.1 mm in November 2019 was higher than multi-annual average at almost all analyzed station. At 14 meteorological stations the number of rainy days in November 2019 exceeded the maximum number of rainy days in available data series while for Dubrovnik, Hvar and Zavižan was on par with maximum number of rainy days according to available data series of mentioned stations.

Table 3 reveals that 2 meteorological stations (Knin and Zavižan) had the highest precipitation amount on record for November 2019.

According to percentile ranks and classification ratings, the precipitation amounts for November 2019 have been described by the following categories: normal (Eastern Croatia and the wider area of the town of Dubrovnik), wet (part of the Middle and Southern Adriatic and the wider area of the town of Ogulin), extremely wet (Lika region and part of the hinterland of the Middle Adriatic) and very wet (the rest of Croatia).
